Farofa

Farofa  is a toasted cassava flour mixture. It is eaten mainly in Brazil. This dish usually accompanies feijoadas and barbecues.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1kg of cassava flour
  • 150g butter
  • 150g of calabrese sausage
  • 150g bacon
  • 6 eggs
  • salt to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut sausage and bacon into small cubes
  2. Melt the butter and then add the flour, stir until golden brown and reserve
  3. Sauté the bacon and the calabrese sausage (it does not need oil as the bacon releases fat) and reserve
  4. In the same frying pan (still with the fat of the bacon), fry the eggs and stir well until dry
  5. Add the other ingredients and stir well to mix
