Rösti Potatos

Rösti is a Swiss dish consisting mainly of potatoes, in the style of a fritter. It was originally a breakfast dish, commonly eaten by farmers in the canton of Bern, but is now eaten all over Switzerland and around the world. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium or large potato
  • 250 g of ham
  • 250 g bacon
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of creamy cheese
  • salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook the potato for 7 minutes, then remove and reserve
  2. Wait cool and put in the refrigerator overnight
  3. The next day, grate the potato in slices as if it were straw potato
  4. Reserve in water, otherwise the potato will turn dark
  5. I have a double frying pan, which makes it easy to turn the potato, but if you do not have it at home, use a plate
  6. Bake the bacon
  7. Place a little potato in the bottom, with a bit of olive oil and let it brown for 5 minutes
  8. Meanwhile put the filling, the Creamy cheese first to support the bacon and the ham
  9. Cover with more potatoes
  10. After 5 minutes turn the side to the golden potato on the other side
